King of the Hill

When we were kids we used to play a game called ‘King of the Hill’. We would find a hill of dirt and someone would climb to the top and the rest would try to knock him off.
Last night, I heard a Ravi talk about how this is how our internal struggle is today. The Yetzer Hara (evil inclination) and the Yetzer Hatov (good inclination) are fighting to be king of the hill (our soul). This is especially true when it comes to addictions. Our internal demons have won before and will not give up easily. Yeshua (Jesus) talked of overcomers. One of the biggest victories you can have is to be an overcomer. He also said that a Zadeek (Righteous One) does not have this struggle any more. He has completely overcome the Yetzer Hara. Call me a dreamer but, I strive to achieve this one day.
It’s not easy.
It’s not quick.
You must do it over and over again, everyday.
But it you do … oh … if you do … the joy is so sweet and the satisfaction is so lovely.
It’s all worth it.
