The Name

When I was in the Marines, my nickname was Smitty.
When I was working at the refinery I had various nicks. I got the nick of Koma because I used to be a D.J. and KOMA was a popular rock and roll station out of Oklahoma City in the 60s. That moniker was transformed into Mckombs in the latter years of my employment by one Mark “Breeze” Briscoe.

What is my point in all this? Since my wife and I joined this “Great Awakening” to the Torah and our Hebrew Roots, I have noticed a great deal of consternation and controversy about how we should say the Name. Not only the name of the Father but also His Son, Yeshua. The argument goes like this: if your name is David how would you like your bride to call you Dennis?

Well, Yeshua knows us and where we come from and I am pretty sure that if we approach Him properly with a heart full of genuine FAITH IN HIM AND THE CREATOR (who are both the same, i.e. John 10:30 “I and My Father are one.”), He will hear us!

But will it work? I mean, will He answer our prayer favorably? Will He heal us, deliver us and make us whole? If you were a parent and your child was continually in disobedience to your word, would you?
