LOOKING UNTO JESUS
LOOKING UNTO JESUS
Hebrews 12:2 (ASV)
2 looking unto Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising shame, and hath sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Numbers 21:9 (KJV)
9 And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.
This is Brenda and I’s first Yom Teruah (Jewish New Year). We came to Messianic Faith early February (maybe late January). We have been believers in Yeshua (Jesus is His Greek name) for most of our lives.
I woke up with the 2 verses above in my head. (ok, the idea of them, I’m not that good yet). I realized that this is the crux of the matter. Yeshua wrote the Torah. He is fulfilling Torah.
Torah did not become useless when the last apostle died. Yeshua and His Disciples followed Torah all the days of their lives on the Earth. As best we can, we also need to follow Torah.
What does this really entail? What is Torah? Technically, it’s the first 5 books of the Holy Scriptures. They were written by Moshe (Moses). Isreali’s go through these books every year or 3 years (depending on what cycle they use). There you find the 10 commandments, of course, but so much more.
Christians don’t even keep the 10 commandments. Exodus 20:8 (CJB)
8 ד 8 “Remember the day, Shabbat, to set it apart for God.
Sunday is NOT Shabbat. Shabbat starts sundown Friday and ends sundown Saturday.
There are feast days in the Torah. Christmas and Easter are NOT feast days. They are pagan holidays. Exodus 20:3 (CJB)
3 ב 3 “You are to have no other gods before me.
By celebrating pagan holidays are you breaking this commandment? Research how Christmas and Easter really started and what they are really celebrations of and you decide.
SHANA TOVA VEMETUKA LEKULAM
From what I understand this is the traditional Hebrew greeting for this time. It means may your name be written in the Book of Life.
All my life I have heard that “Jesus is in every book of the Bible”
Now more than ever I KNOW this to be so true!!!
